There’s an authenticity at the heart of Paria Farzaneh that has kept the label at the forefront of London's fashion output since it was founded in 2017. Farzaneh has managed to create a universe that is as intricate and elegant as it is utilitarian, drawing heavily on her Iranian heritage for a completely unique offering. All the while she remains unflinchingly political, with acts that exceed the usual boundaries of fashion like the explosions that closed out her SS21 show in protest of rising Islamophobia and anti-LGBTQ+ sentiments. Perhaps this is why, despite being so widely adored, Farzaneh sees herself as a pariah; Few could successfully marry blissful escapism with such bold messaging.
